MOTHER/NATURE: A DAYLONG FLASH WRITING WORKSHOP

A Holistic Writing Workshop Inspired by the Methods of Master Playwright Maria Irene Fornes

Join Thinking Cap Theatre for a special daylong Flash Writing Workshop in association with the Fornes Institute and Hollywood Art and Culture Center.

During this 6-hour workshop, participants will engage in a holistic, collaborative creative process with the support of a team of professional theatre artists.

Inspired by the embodied writing methodologies of master playwright Maria Irene Fornes, this workshop invites participants to tap into new creative pathways centered on the workshop theme: MOTHER/NATURE.

Over the course of the 6-hour session, participants will do the following:

Learn the Fornes method;
* Practice communal warm-ups and writing exercises;
* Work in small groups to rehearse their new works (monologues, short plays, poetry);
* Share their new creations with the writing community
* Break bread and toast to the writing community's accomplishments

The following is included in your registration fee:
* Snacks and refreshments throughout the day
* Lunch
* A Fornes Institute Engraved Journal
* A Copy of Fornes' final collection of plays - Letters from Cuba and Other Plays
* Community Toast with Champagne/Sparkling Cider to commemorate your new creation


Please note that no prior writing experience is needed to participate in this workshop.

Please also note that the physical activities included in this workshop can be tailored to each individual's own comfort level.
