A Playful Tribute to the Pioneers of the 19th Amendment - Part of Thinking Cap Theatre’s HISTORY IN ACTION Series.

Get ready to meet some retro rock stars of the Suffrage Era! In celebration of the centennial of the 19th amendment, Thinking Cap Theatre presents MEET the SuffraGETTES, an unique, family-friendly theatrical performance that (re)introduces audiences to ten leading figures of the women’s suffrage movement. With an original script that interweaves primary historical documents and contemporary insights, Thinking Cap’s team of artists use dramatic storytelling to bring to life Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass, Sojourner Truth, Lucy Stone, Ida B. Wells Barnett, Mary Terrell, Alice Paul, and Cathy Chapman Catt. Their deeply resonant messages will have you playing the air guitar in their honor.

Join us for a special Post-Show Talkback with members of The League of Women Voters of Broward County including Monica Elliot, Ph.D./J.D., President & Margie Rohrbach.
This special 19th Amendment celebration is made possible through our community partnership with The League of Women Voters of Broward County and Outclique Magazine.
