Memory Lane Playwriting Workshop Series
Take a dramatic stroll down memory lane with Thinking Cap Theatre

This workshop will consist of three group writing sessions.
Sunday, 12/6, 3-5:30pm
Wednesday, 12/9, 7-9pm
Sunday, 12/13, 3-5:30pm

Writers will participate in individual and group exercises to generate material for new, original monologues and short plays on the following theme: December Holidays. Writers will receive feedback on their work from other workshop participants as well as from the Workshop Leaders, Nicole Stodard and Bree-Anna Obst. The workshops will be held over Zoom. Participants will be provided Zoom links for each session via email. The suggested script-writing software for participants is Celtix; a free account can be created at https://celtix.com.

Writers will submit final drafts of the pieces they wish to have considered for inclusion in the Thinking Cap Theatre’s Memory Lane virtual play reading event by Tuesday, 12/15, and notified of decisions by Thursday, 12/17.

Memory Lane Play Reading Event
The pieces developed during this workshop will be eligible for inclusion in Thinking Cap Theatre’s Memory Lane virtual play reading event, which will be performed by local professional actors on Saturday, 12/25 at 8pm. All workshop participants will be provided unique codes to reserve complimentary tickets to the event. The event will be held over Zoom.

Copyright and Permissions
Writers will own exclusive copyright to the work that they generate during this workshop. Writers whose works are selected for inclusion in Thinking Cap Theatre’s virtual play reading will retain exclusive copyright to their work and will grant Thinking Cap Theatre permission to present their work without royalty or any other fees.
