THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ME | VIRTUAL

Join Thinking Cap Theatre in recognition of Transgender Day of Visibility for The Importance of Being Me, an interdisciplinary youth art program inspired by LGBTQ+ icon Oscar Wilde (The Importance of Being Earnest). This event is the capstone of work created by 20 LGBTQ youth nationwide during the summer of 2022. The youth explored Wilde’s legacy of authentic self-expression and social critique through art as a launching pad to create self-affirming art of their own. The event line-up includes monologues, short plays, poetry, drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.

The VIRTUAL EDITION of this program was filmed live on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at MAD Arts Space, Dania Beach, FL.

This program is made possible by lead supporters Our Fund Foundation, Broward County Sheriff's Office and MAD Arts, sponsor The World Aids Museum and Educational Center, and community partners TransInclusive Group, TransSocial INC, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County, Thou Art Woman, Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida, The Pride Center at Equality Park and Pridelines.

Tickets are a Pay-What-You-Can-Donation.
