Spring Fire by Vin Packer. SCHOOL IS BACK IN SESSION AND THERE’S A NEW GIRL IN TOWN

Spring Fire is credited as one of the earliest and most successful lesbian pulp novels of the mid-twentieth century. Published in 1952, the novel is set in September on a midwestern college campus and examines the budding sexualities of an array of co-eds, most notably, its central heroine Susan Mitchell, her sorority sister, Leda Taylor, and the men who divert them This is a fast read with fascinating plot twists. South Florida theatergoers who saw the musical PULP at Island City Stage this past spring will enjoy experiencing one of the landmark works that inspired the play.

Thinking Cap Theatre presents SALON, a new Readers’ Series featuring LGBTQ+ and Feminist Texts (nonfiction, novels, plays) curated by TCT's Artistic Director. The aim of the series is to provide a sustained space to foster friendships and dialogue on themes of historical and ongoing importance to LGBTQ+ women and allies.

Upon registration, participants will be emailed a one-page discussion handout.

Catered refreshments are included in the registration cost.

Books must be purchased separately by each participant

This program was made possible by a joint grant from The Our Fund Foundation and The Community Foundation of Broward.
