An LGBTQ+ Youth Performance, Art Exhibit & Reception

Join Thinking Cap Theatre at ArtServe for The Importance of Being Me, a multidisciplinary youth arts showcase inspired by LGBTQ icons from Oscar Wilde (The Importance of Being Earnest) to Maria Irene Fornes (Fefu and Her Friends) that aims to empower LGBTQ+ youth through the creation of their own self-affirming art.

This event is the capstone of work developed LGBTQ youth nationwide during the summer of 2024. The event lineup will include monologues, short plays, poetry, film, costume design, drawing, painting, photography, and digital art.

This program is sponsored by Floatarama, Broward County Sheriff’s Office and the OurFund Foundation, an LGBTQ+ Foundation and is delievered in community partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County, Blinc, Gay Men's Chorus South Florida, The Pride Center at Equality Park, Safe Schools South Florida, Skirt SoFlo, Stonewall National Museum and Archives, Tello Films, Transsocial, Transinclusive Group, & Women With Pride.
